How to find the Mess

The Mess is located at the end of Lyall Street, just before the dockyard gate. This building was opened in 1994 and overlooks beautiful Esquimalt Harbour.

The Mess is a non-public entity and is designed for the social and professional use of the Chief and Petty Officers and guests of Maritime Forces Pacific.

The Mess will resume bar services starting 4 August 2020, please see the guidelines below. We hope to see you soon!

Draught will be delayed due to delivery dates for product.

Bar Operations Daytime
Monday-Friday: 11:30 - 13:00

Bar Operations Evening (or as REQUIRED for Mess supported events)
Monday to Thursday : 1600 to 2000
Friday: 1600 to 2300

Weekend hours as required for Functions
Closed all Statutory Holidays


GUIDELINES

As per the Provincial guidelines set out for mass gatherings, the mess has reduced services to a maximum of 50 patrons in one area at a time.

Following the Provincial guidelines and work safe BC set out for food and beverage establishments, bar services will resume 4 August 2020 with the following guidelines:

-Any patrons suffering from cold/flu/COVID like symptoms shall not be admitted in the mess.
-All patrons are requested to wash or sanitize their hands before entering the building.
-All patrons must be seated at one table inside or on the patio and order beverages by table service only. A bartender will come to you.
-Servers will ask for one patron’s contact information per table for contact tracing.
-Patrons are to remain seated except to use the rest rooms.
-Patrons cannot carry beverages away from their designated table.
-Patrons may not sit at more than one table.
-Patrons may not mingle with other tables.
-All patrons from different tables must remain 2 metres apart and if they cannot remain 2 metres apart MUST wear mask. ( masks will not be provided by the mess)
-Patrons may not move tables together.
-Maximum per table is six persons.
-Dancing is not permitted.

We ask that you keep travel to other area of the building to a minimum.

Anyone not following the set out guidelines will be asked to leave the Mess.

Our mission is to provide a social setting for the mess membership of CFB Esquimalt to interact, build and maintain friendships, and participate in Mess Activities.
